How to Check BRI Account Is Still Active or Not Via HP
Sometimes after a long period of not being used, your BRI account will be automatically deactivated. Then, how to check it? Here’s how to check the activity of a BRI account via a smartphone:
Via Call Center
- Make sure you have credit on the number you use to call Bank BRI Customer Service.
- Call 14017 or 1500017.
- Follow the instructions regarding the choice of service, select account status info.
- Convey your needs to the Customer Service.
- BRI Customer Service will provide information regarding the active status of your account.
Via E-Wallet with Transfer Option
Second, you can use Digital Wallet Applications such as OVO, Gopay, Dana, LinkAja and the like to check whether your account is still active or not.
It’s easy, just open your E-Wallet application. Select the transfer option, and transfer some money (no need a lot, because it’s only for checks) to the BRI account number you want to check. If, the information identifying the Account Owner’s Name appears and the transfer is successful. So, your account is still active. On the other hand, if the transfer fails, the account number has been deactivated.

BRI ATM Active Period if the Balance is Empty
Sometimes, we have so many bank accounts that one of them is no longer in use. This can also apply to your BRI Bank account. Please note that there are 2 BRI Bank account statuses if you don’t use them for a long time.
First, the account will be dormant or passive. This means that you haven’t used this account for a long time but the balance is still there and is sufficient to pay the monthly administration fee which will be automatically deducted by the Bank.
Second, the account will be inactive if the account has not been used for a long time and does not have enough balance to pay the monthly administration fee. As a result, this account will be deactivated by the bank because it has exceeded its active limit.
Then, how long is the BRI ATM Active Period if the balance is empty? Depending on the type of account, here are the details:
BRI BritAma Rekening Account
Minimum balance of IDR 50,000, customers will not be penalized if the balance is below the minimum balance per month. The account will become dormant if the customer’s balance is below the minimum balance and there are no transactions for 540 days. The account will be passive on the 540+1 day and will be closed by the system on the 541+1 day.
BRI BritAma Bisnis Account
Minimum balance of IDR 50,000, will be subject to a fine of IDR 50,000 / month if the total balance is below the minimum number. The account will become dormant when the customer’s balance is below the minimum number and there are no transactions for 540 days. The account will be passive on the 540+1 day and will be disclosed by the system on the 541+1 day.
BRI Simpedes Account
Minimum balance of IDR 50,000, fines below the minimum balance per month of IDR 5,000. The account will become dormant if the customer’s balance is below the minimum balance and there are no transactions from the customer for 365 consecutive days.

How to Reactivate a Passive BRI Account?
If your account is dead and inactive then you must replace it with a new one. However, if the status is only passive and there is still a balance remaining for monthly fees. So, you can reactivate it without making any changes. The method is quite easy, please come to the nearest BRI Bank Branch Office by bringing several documents such as ID cards, ATMs, and Original Savings Books.
Savings Limits That Can Be Taken
Limits for BRI savings usually vary, depending on the type of account. For example, you have a Simpedes savings account with a minimum balance of IDR 50,000. Currently your balance is only IDR 90,000. So, you cannot make cash withdrawals at ATMs. ATMs only issue money in Rp 50,000 and Rp 100,000 denominations. While the rest of your money is only Rp. 40,000 (Rp. 90,000-Rp. 50,000).
